Dr. Kieth Deats on Leadership and Leading in Uncertainty | HR14

Susan Ney hosts guest, Dr. Kieth Deats, as he shares how his personal journey shaped both his leadership style and the model he created through his doctoral research and dissertation, of Equality-Based Practice and the related Five-Step Framework. Dr. Deats offers programs and dialogue on leading in uncertainty through his business Recree8, based out of Scotland. 

His passion is about “Helping Individuals, Groups and Leaders Think and Grow.” He “Strives for inclusion, transparency, and the well-being of the whole to sustain and increase rates of growth.” He has helped transform companies into places where people love to come to work because they are asked for input, listened to, and truly wish to buy in to their and their organization’s success.  Dr. Deats integrates the latest research and thinking on leadership into his work. He encourages deep dialogue and reflection. About the Guest – Dr. Kieth Deats

Dr. Kieth Deats is a Doctoral Practitioner graduate from the DBA Business Economics program at University College Cork, where he was supervised by Harvard Professors Robert Kegan, (now retired) and Eleanor Doyle (Co-Chair of Harvard Business School’s Knowledge Generation Council and a Harvard Hall of Famer).

His academic and practice credentials are further complemented by graduating from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business where he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Business and Executive Coaching, along with an MBA from Newport, as well as study and certification in Adult Training and Continuing Education, Neuro Linguistics, Industrial Relations, Negotiation, Management Accounting, and the Science and Practice of Agriculture. He has also completed training from MITx in Leading Awareness-based Systems Change; How to Sense and Actualize the Future and has a Hypnosis Practitioner certification. 

He has been a soldier, a prospector, a farmer, a food processor and retailer, a construction company owner and is now a coach and consultant. 

He is a consummate believer in learning-by-doing, lived experience, and the use of experiential knowledge and lifelong learning. He is a specialist in Leadership and Next Level Growth with practice-based training in Adult Mental Development and Complexity.

He is a lifelong learner and keeps abreast of the latest in leadership research, thinking and practice from the world’s top Universities and Institutes of Technology
